The Next Karate Kid (2026)
The Radar read
A middle-of-the-pack signal worth a look, though the rating rests on a thin sample, so treat it as provisional.
Synopsis
Twelve-year-old Sasha is forced to leave Moscow for Pyatigorsk to live with his aunt while his doctor parents are on assignment in Africa. Local children, school bullying, and conflict with the leader, Marat, become part of his new life. When his parents disappear during a flood, the boy faces utter despair. Seeking strength, he discovers a passion-karate, where his strict sensei, Dmitriy, and his daughter, Masha, help him overcome his fears, develop his character, and find inner strength.

Open Double Feature RadarRadar blends quality, momentum and freshness into one “what to watch now” number — so a great older film can sit lower than a rising new release. The Quality signal above is the time-neutral rating, which is why an acclaimed classic keeps a high quality score even when its Radar number is lower. Radar outputs are editorial algorithmic recommendations, not objective facts, and may change as signals update. A Radar score is not the same as a TMDB, IMDb or critic rating.
